Refractive
index RE40D, RE50
The RE refractometers determine the refractive index
using a method based on total reection. Even turbid
or dark samples can be measured with this technique.
The instruments are practically maintenance-free,
thanks to the latest technological developments – no
moving parts, long-life LED light source and an inert
sapphire prism. The accurate thermostating of samples
with the built-in Peltier thermostat ensures reliable
measurements. The results are displayed as refractive
index, in Brix or in other user-dened units.

Density DE40, DE45, DE51
The DE density meters measure the resonance fre-
quency of a special glass cell lled with sample. The
density of the sample is calculated from this frequency
and is displayed directly as density, specic gravity
or in other units such as Brix, API degrees or alcohol
concentration. The DE density meters are also suitable
for the measurement of viscous samples because they
automatically correct the inuence of sample viscosity
on the oscillation behavior of the cell.
All DE density meters are supplied with 2 certied den-
sity standards (water).
